Participants will be instructed on basic drawing strategies to simplify the human form and how to build line and value as pose lengths increase, all while working from a nude model. Class includes a pad of newsprint and a kneaded eraser, and all work will be done in charcoal.     <description>This workshop is designed for participants in the range of relief printmaking experiences from beginner to intermediate. We will focus on how to design and carve woodcuts for creating fabric patches. Instruction will touch on woodcutting tools, carving techniques, and two different ways to hand print woodcut blocks using different inks and inking methods. Participants are welcome to bring an item of clothing or fabric to print on. Each person will receive a fabric to print a final patch design on. A list of tips, tools and materials will be provided to those interested in repeating this process.</description>

    <title>The Basics of Drawing</title>
    <description>Artist Jeremy Anacker will guide you through the basics of observational drawing, building your confidence with a pencil in your hand and sketchpad in your lap. Students will learn the academic approach to seeing and visually responding while studying various still life subjects. You will learn how to use charcoal, drafting pencils and more. Work on your hand-eye coordination skills, gain acuity of seeing, and broaden your knowledge of classical drawing techniques in this beginner class. Enrollment fee includes a personal drawing kit containing one six-piece drafting pencil set, kneaded eraser, and pencil sharpener. Additional required supplies are: 1-18" x 24" white drawing pad with 50-100 sheets, ebony pencil, and vine charcoal sticks.</description>
