- DescriptionNina Marano, associate director for veterinary public health in the Division of Bacterial and Mycotic Diseases of the CDC, talks about how, in the current era of modern transportation, we can get around the world in less than an incubation period for most infectious diseases: Think of SARS and now avian influenza. This talk will describe CDC's role in detection and prevention of emerging infectious diseases in relation to global travel and transportation.
