- Description(Please note the new time and place.) Service now accounts for approximately 80 percent of the economy and manufacturing has held steady at 20 percent. Research in understanding and promoting these two key areas is essential to the continued growth of the economy and understanding of how these sectors distinctly operate, interact and compliment each other. This presentation will discuss the efforts and funding opportunities at the National Science Foundation in these areas.
