1972 La Follette alum and an economist with his Ph.D. from UW-Madison, Eugene Steuerle is a respected author and researcher. Among his past positions, he has served as deputy assistant aecretary of the Treasury for tax analysis (1987-1989), president of the National Tax Association (2001-2002), and economic coordinator and original organizer of the study that led to the Tax Reform Act of 1986.
