How Infants Learn Language
- Date May 28
- Time 7 p.m.
- Location1111 Genetics-Biotechnology Center Building
- DescriptionJenny Saffran, psychology, describes how the infant's world is a remarkably complex place. How do infants find structure in their environments? In particular, language is arguably the most complex thing we ever learn, yet it is mastered early in childhood. Saffran will discuss recent thinking and studies that focus on the types of learning abilities that infants bring to the problem of language learning and discuss implications for important societal issues (e.g., language education in schools).
