WID-DOW Seminar

20th Century Global Forest Carbon Emissions: Estimates from Global Forest and Land Use Model

Event Details

Date
Monday, April 14, 2014
Time
4 p.m.
Description
A historical forest management optimization model was created and calibrated to global historical data. Results show rather than contributing 30% of global carbon emissions, forests are likely responsible for a far smaller share. Forest management has provided strong incentives for increasing forests stocks globally and sequestering carbon.
Cost
Free and open to campus.
