This talk will discuss the ways in which AIDS has pervaded the personal and social imaginings of the body by highlighting textual representations found in Spanish American literature where AIDS has a significant role. I will reference my recent scholarship on these literary realms and then will talk briefly about my current research into visual depictions of the AIDS epidemic from Spanish America.
