Description
One of the magnificent legacies of the Middle Ages is that of its stained glass windows. Created for the great cathedrals of the period, the art of stained glass reached its high point between 1150-1500. This series looks at the origins, techniques, designs, colors, iconography, and patronage of medieval windows. Some of the stained glass programs discussed include: St. Denis, Chartres, Bourges, Sainte-Chapelle, Canterbury, York, and Leon.
