Antonio Ruiz is a founding member of Maya Vinic Cooperative in Mexico & is currently serving as the commercial manager. He comes from a coffee-producing family from the Acteal region & is of the Mayan Tzotzil Indigenous group.Ruiz will talk about the challenges of coffee production and community development in Chiapas through the enactment of NAFTA & the subsequent reactions & counter-reactions, ranging from economic injustices to bloodshed.
