How can consumers most effectively reduce the carbon footprint of their electricity consumption?

Many consumers are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint. An increasing share of consumers own loads whose consumption can easily be changed in time, such as electric vehicle charging, and/or in space, such as hyper-scale data centers. In this talk, we discuss the question of how consumers can shift their load to most effectively reduce carbon emissions, including what metrics they should use to guide their shifting. We will focus on the case of a hyper-scale data center.
