A Serial Biography of the Wayward

Saidiya Hartman's work on African American and American literature and cultural history has contributed to our understanding of the intersection of slavery, gender, and the development of progressivism in the US. She will discuss the social upheaval and radical transformation of everyday life that took place in the slums between 1890-1920.
