Description
Public discourse among activists and progressives on the prison industrial complex focuses on the experiences of black men under state surveillance and control. This talk provides an intervention on the discourse on black male criminalization by providing a gendered lens through which to read black male vulnerability to forms of gender surveillance and sexual violence unto which they are often thought immune.
