Brother Outsider: The Life of Bayard Rustin

Event Details

Date
Monday, October 6, 2014
Time
5:30 p.m.
Description
Bayard Rustin is best remembered as the organizer of the 1963 March on Washington. But, Rustin was also seen as a political liability. He was openly gay during a fiercely homophobic era; as a result, he was frequently shunned by the very civil rights movement he helped create. This compelling film chronicles Rustin’s complex life story, a tale of race, prejudice, and idealism at the heart of 20th century America.

Join us for a special keynote with Bayard's partner, Walter Naegle on Oct 7.
