Description
Prof. Dr. Larry Nesper discusses the 100-year anniversary of the Society of American Indians meeting held on our campus Oct. 6-11, 1914. The SAI was the first national Indian rights organization run entirely by American Indian people. Attended by 57 Native people from at least 13 tribes from across the United States, the meeting motivated researchers at the University of Wisconsin to begin to reach out to the tribes in the state in the spirit of the Wisconsin Idea.
