Description
Despite innovations in technology, geography and place still matter when it comes to deciding where to go to college. At this brown bag talk, Nicholas Hillman will discuss “education deserts," or communities across the country where there are few public alternatives nearby for place-bound students to enroll in college. Hillman has found that education deserts are drawn along lines of race and class, and the "choices" of lower-income and minority students are often the most constrained.
