Nitrogen is essential to sustain agriculture. Great increases in global demand for food, especially animal products, necessitate an urgent search to enhance nitrogen use efficiency and reduce environmental loss. Our speaker will present an overview of dairy herd structures and linkages between nitrogen in feed, milk and manure in 144 countries, and more detailed information on impacts of herd management on nitrogen use efficiency in dairy systems of West Africa, Australia, India and the US.
